Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
    1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on warehouse machinery, material handling equipment (MHE), HVAC, DG sets, and electrical panels.
    2. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
    3. Ensure timely servicing of forklifts, stackers, pallet jacks, and other logistics equipment.
  • Facility & Utility Maintenance:
      1. Conduct routine inspections of lighting, fire safety systems, water supply, drainage, and warehouse structure.
      2. Maintain doors, shutters, dock levellers, and security systems to ensure safe and smooth warehouse operations.
      3. Record and monitor electricity consumption, maintaining logs for utility bills and energy usage optimization.
      4. Manage the operation and upkeep of solar power plants, ensuring maximum efficiency and uptime.
      5. Maintain DG sets, including fuel management, oil changes, and operational checks to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
      6. Oversee UPS systems, ensuring battery backups are functional and perform preventive maintenance as per schedules.
      7. Coordinate with vendors for facility maintenance tasks like pest control, deep cleaning, AMC maintenance and structural repairs.
  • Compliance & Safety:
      1. Ensure adherence to safety regulations, SOPs, and statutory compliance (electrical safety, fire safety, pollution control, etc.).
      2. Maintain records of maintenance activities, safety checks, and audit reports.
      3. Participate in safety drills and ensure emergency systems (fire alarms, extinguishers, hydrants) are operational.
  • Preventive Maintenance & Asset Management:
      1. Execute preventive maintenance schedules for all critical assets, reducing downtime and enhancing lifespan.
      2. Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and consumables for timely repairs.
      3. Coordinate with the procurement team for vendor selection and material procurement.
      4. Record and publish periodic maintenance checklists prepared and provided by the    central maintenance team. ( daily, weekly and monthly)
      5. Maintain asset lists, understand the List of OEMs, vendors and the respective service escalation matrix and advise on issues with assets.
  • Breakdown & Emergency Support:
      1. Provide immediate troubleshooting support for breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.
      2. Work closely with the warehouse team to resolve maintenance-related bottlenecks in logistics operations.
  • Coordination & Reporting:
      1. Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers for maintenance activities.
      2. Prepare maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance schedules.
      3. Assist in energy-saving initiatives and cost optimization for maintenance operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ITI/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse/factory maintenance, preferably in a retail or FMCG setup.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, DG sets, UPS, HVAC, solar plants, material handling equipment, and general facility maintenance.
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance requirements in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to handle emergency breakdowns and preventive maintenance planning.

Skills Required:

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems) and IoT-based monitoring systems.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools is an advantage.
